ALERT!

Secure Flight and YOU!

As our valued client, we would like to make you aware of upcoming changes in our reservation process. On May 15, 2009, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin requiring airlines to collect additional traveler information as part of Secure Flight, a program under which TSA will assume responsibility from airlines for pre-screening travelers against aviation-related terrorist watch lists. In light of these new data collection requirements, the airlines require travel agents to collect the necessary traveler information.

There are three required Secure Flight data elements and one optional element. Name, Gender, and Date of Birth are required. A Redress Number is optional. Failure to include this information in your reservation may inhibit the ability to get a boarding pass at home or at the airport, and may result in additional screening and possible missed flights. Neither Conlin Travel nor TSA take responsibility should this happen.

1. Full Name - REQUIRED
The name on the airline reservation must match the government-issued identification the traveler presents at the airport prior to boarding. A middle name or initial is mandatory IF the government issued ID includes a middle name or initial. If the traveler travels both domestically and internationally, but uses different forms of ID, these should be updated to match or the traveler should use a passport for all flights.

2. Date of Birth - REQUIRED
The date of birth on the airline reservation must match the date as it appears on the document presented at the airport.

3. Gender - REQUIRED
The gender on the airline reservation must be the same as shown on the document presented at the airport.

4. Redress Number - OPTIONAL
A Redress Number is a TSA-issued code given to certain travelers whose names have triggered "false positive" matches to watch lists in the past. Click here for more information on Redress Numbers.

If the traveler is a member in frequent traveler programs, it may be necessary to update the spelling of their name as it appears on their government ID that will be presented at the airport. If the name does not match exactly, the traveler may not receive credit for their flights, hotel stays or car rentals. As your travel agency, we cannot assume any loss of credit/points/rewards if the traveler does not make these changes with the airlines, hotels or car rental companies. Conlin Travel is not permitted to make these changes on your behalf.
